Students in grades 7, 8, and 10 are getting to know each other and me. Everyone has received their sketchbooks, and we have dedicated the first page to a layout about ourselves. Not only does this help me get to know students, but it is also students\u2019 first opportunity to show off their creative style. Students have also joined their class Google Classroom sites and are becoming familiar with the posted class resources.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In grade 7, we have already jumped into learning about linear perspective &#8211; the system of lines and points that allows us to draw three-dimensional objects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In grade 8, students have been introduced to the Elements of Art &#8211; line, colour, shape, space, value, texture, and form. This foundational understanding will be essential as the unit progresses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students in grade 10 have dedicated their time to their \u2018A Day in the Life of\u2026\u2019 sketchbook page, where they visually capture their daily routine or their \u2018perfect day\u2019 using a layout similar to that of a comic or graphic novel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ms. Kinsey<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This has been a great first week in art.
