In maths, we have been exploring multi-step problems (see Seesaw for an example). In Literacy, we have been identifying the features of a persuasive text and then starting to try and write our own persuasive text. In our UOI, we are looking at the journey we have been on so far in our lives, and what might come next, what might our influence and legacy be as we move through the different stages of our lives (more information in this week’s Seesaw).

Next Week

Maths – We will be…

Exploring the 24 hour Clock

Inquiring into different time zones

Continuing multi step worded problem strategies

Reviewing our measurement pre assessments

Mental Maths (home learning).

Literacy and Unit of Inquiry (very closely connected in the coming weeks) – We will be…

Watching and analysing different persuasive Ted Talks

Recognising the features and skills used in a successful Ted Talk

Brainstorming ideas for our own Ted Talks

Book Clubs

Also, next week we will be doing a CAT 4 assessment with the students (over 3 sessions) to measure their cognitive and reasoning abilities.
