The learners are now using “body percussion” (claps, pats, and stomps) to represent these numbers, creating a physical map of the music they hear.

Grades 1 & 2: From Tones to Tunes

After mastering the basic striking techniques on Boomwhackers and Xylophones, Grades 1 and 2 are now performing short, melodic phrases. We are focusing on call and response exercises, where students must listen intently to a leader before “answering” back on their instruments, building the foundations of musical conversation.

Middle Primary: Mastery & Literacy

Grade 3: Keyboard Coordination

Grade 3 has moved from simple rhythmic pulses to finger independence on the piano. This week, we explored the “geography” of the white keys, learning how to find ‘Middle C’ and using our knowledge of rhythm to play steady quarter and half-note patterns with both hands.

Grades 4 & 5: Rhythmic Literacy

Building on our expanded vocabulary, Grades 4 and 5 are now transcribing rhythms.
