Happy Thursday Roblox Families,<\/span><\/p>\n

Welcome back to our normal school day schedule! I\u2019m sure both students and parents are slowly settling back into their regular routines, just as we are here at school \ud83d\ude0a<\/span><\/p>\n

In our Unit of Inquiry, Sharing the Planet, this week we focused on food chain vocabulary and key concepts. Students explored the meanings of producers, consumers, decomposers, as well as herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. They looked into what their animals were and were able to determine whether they were predators,prey or both.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next week, we will continue building on this by completing and creating our own food chains. Students will also finalise their animal research and begin their writing task.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will be finishing up our dioramas this coming week, with many students already showing great effort and creativity in their projects. Some students are still completing their research and continuing to learn more about their chosen animal, which is wonderful to see as they build a deeper understanding of their habitat and ecosystem. Students will be presenting their work to the class once we have all finished with report writing and habitats. These presentations are a valuable opportunity for students to share their understanding and build confidence in speaking.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Literacy, we began exploring different types of sentences. Students are learning to identify and use statements, questions, exclamations, and commands. We are also developing understanding of complete sentences versus sentence fragments.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will continue reviewing nouns, verbs, adjectives, and pronouns throughout the remainder of the school year. Students wrote a recount about their holiday break, and we will continue practising and strengthening this writing skill.<\/span><\/p>\n

We also had a fantastic time celebrating Maths Week ! Students enjoyed practising a variety of concepts through fun and engaging activities, and especially loved taking part in the Grade 4 organised Maths games on Wednesday, which brought lots of excitement and collaboration!<\/span><\/p>\n

You can support your child at home by making real-life connections, such as sharing food or dividing items into equal parts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Please continue supporting your child\u2019s reading journey. Students are expected to read for 20 minutes each day.<\/span><\/p>\n
