Students in English and Humanities had classes continue as usual till Wednesday and those who attended benefitted from collaboration and feedback. It is hoped that students who could not attend this week, will make up the work as posted on Google Classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>In English, Grade 7s have worked on analysing how graphs visualise data for specific purposes and practised answering questions accurately according to specific IB Command terms. In Humanities, they have focused on developing their knowledge and understanding of freshwater biomes and have applied their understanding by creating labelled diagrams.<\/p>\n<p>Grade 8 students have been studying the terminology of &#8216;population&#8217; by creating Frayer models and the application of the terminology through reading of texts such as population density maps. In English, Science fiction is being discussed. Students have started identifying the tropes and conventsions of the genre this week.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, grade 9s have looked into denotation versus connotation of words and how these apply when analysing allegorical texts such as Aesop&#8217;s fable, The Hare and the Tortoise. They also considered connotations associated with specific animals.
