Dear Parents,<\/p>\n

This week, I’m sharing as both MYP Coordinator and French Teacher and we have a special spotlight on Grade 10s<\/em><\/strong>, who are entering a very important period of their MYP journey. Over the coming couple of months, they will be sitting their MYP eAssessments<\/strong>, the online examinations that conclude the programme.
\nThese will include Integrated Humanities, Sciences, Maths, English, and Arabic<\/strong>. At the same time, students are also finalising several other key elements of their MYP experience: their Personal Project<\/strong>, Service as Action<\/strong>, and the ePortfolios<\/strong> they have chosen for Art, PHE, and Music<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From a French perspective, students have been fully engaged this week preparing for their Individual Oral<\/strong>, which will take place on April 1st<\/strong> for both French and Spanish. This is a significant task and, for many of them, the first formal seated assessment of the season, and sometimes the first experience of this type of recorded examination. Students will be presented with two visual stimuli<\/strong>, they will analyse one of the two and discuss before engaging in a conversation that will be recorded, graded, and commented on before being submitted to the IB for moderation.<\/p>\n

Shortly after, students will sit mock examinations for their online assessments from April 5th to 9th<\/strong>, before the final eAssessments in May<\/strong>. As you can imagine, this class is currently managing multiple deadlines across subjects, and overall they are doing a commendable job navigating this demanding period.<\/p>\n

This is a great moment for students to strengthen key ATL skills<\/strong>, particularly Self-Management (organisation and<\/strong> reflection<\/strong>): planning for assessments, setting deadlines, and defining clear learning goals<\/strong>.
\nParents can support this process simply by asking questions, encouraging conversations about preparation strategies, and helping students stay focused as they approach these important milestones of their final MYP year.<\/p>\n

A busy but exciting time for our Grade 10s as they move towards the final steps of their MYP journey.<\/p>\n
