After investigating an artwork through <strong data-start=\"289\" data-end=\"317\">Form, Theme, and Context<\/strong> for Criterion A, students moved into the developing stage of their own work. They have been carefully planning and practicing techniques in their process journals, focusing on how a single color can create depth, mood, and visual interest. Through blending, layering, and experimenting with tints and shades, students are discovering how value plays a key role in making their still life compositions appear three-dimensional.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"746\" data-end=\"936\"><strong data-start=\"746\" data-end=\"786\">2. Developing Skills and Techniques:<\/strong><br data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"789\" \/>As part of Criterion B, students are building their technical skills through structured practice and exploration. The required evidence includes:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"937\" data-end=\"1149\">\n<li data-start=\"937\" data-end=\"978\">\n<p data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"978\"><strong data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"967\">Drawing Fruits worksheet<\/strong> (pencil)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"979\" data-end=\"1032\">\n<p data-start=\"981\" data-end=\"1032\"><strong data-start=\"981\" data-end=\"1011\">Still Life: Fruits drawing<\/strong> (optional, pencil)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1033\" data-end=\"1097\">\n<p data-start=\"1035\" data-end=\"1097\"><strong data-start=\"1035\" data-end=\"1067\">Tints and Shades value scale<\/strong> on black paper (oil pastel)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1098\" data-end=\"1149\">\n<p data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1149\"><strong data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1134\">Two still life object drawings<\/strong> (oil pastel)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1151\" data-end=\"1307\">These tasks help students strengthen observation skills, understand proportion, and confidently apply oil pastel techniques to show light, shadow, and form.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1309\" data-end=\"1680\"><strong data-start=\"1309\" data-end=\"1330\">3. Looking Ahead:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1330\" data-end=\"1333\" \/>Next week, students will begin refining their final monochromatic still life compositions. They will apply the techniques practiced in their studies to create a resolved artwork that clearly demonstrates strong use of value, composition, and blending.
