As we approach the end of the term, creativity is blooming across the Art and Design classrooms at Al Batinah International School<\/strong> in preparation for our upcoming exhibition, the ABIS Art Show 2025<\/strong>. The event will run from December 4\u201317<\/strong> in LC3<\/strong>, with PYP artworks displayed downstairs<\/strong> and MYP\/DP artworks upstairs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In Design class, Grade 8 students<\/strong> have taken on the exciting challenge of creating the official poster<\/strong> for this year\u2019s art show. Using the principles of graphic design<\/strong>\u2014repetition, contrast, alignment, and proximity\u2014they explored how layout and visual hierarchy can communicate mood, clarity, and energy. To refine their work, students participated in a peer critique using sticky notes<\/strong>, sharing thoughtful praise and constructive suggestions to help one another improve their digital designs.<\/p>\n

Student Spotlight:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Grade 8 students impressed us with their creativity and strong understanding of design principles. Many posters showcased bold color contrasts, balanced compositions, and innovative uses of typography that truly capture the spirit of the ABIS Art Show. Their collaborative critique session demonstrated how young designers can learn from one another and build confidence in visual communication.<\/p>\n

Looking Ahead:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We are very excited to invite the ABIS community to the Art Show from December 4\u201317 in LC3<\/strong>. This exhibition will celebrate student creativity across all year levels\u2014from PYP to DP\u2014and highlight the talent, imagination, and effort our young artists bring to the classroom. Be sure to stop by PYP downstairs<\/strong> and MYP\/DP upstairs<\/strong> to experience the diverse range of artworks and discover how art continues to inspire and connect our school community.<\/p>\n
