It was a pleasure meeting with you and your child to discuss their goals and outlooks for the year. Thank you for taking the time to be there and for your continued support in your child\u2019s learning journey. Your involvement will be especially valuable as we approach the start of the <\/span>PYP Exhibition<\/b>\u2014a ten-week inquiry where students explore a topic of personal interest. You can learn more about your role as a parent and the exhibition process by watching this <\/span>video<\/a> or slides<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This week has flown by!
\n<\/span>Literacy<\/b>
\n<\/b>Students continued working on their <\/span>Personal Narratives<\/span><\/i> and have now begun typing up their final drafts. We are gradually moving into the editing and revising stages, where students will refine their word choice, structure, and use of descriptive language.
\n<\/span>Math
\n<\/b>We revisited key fraction concepts from before the break and extended our understanding to include multiplying fractions by whole numbers, multiplying fractions by fractions, and dividing fractions. Students are building confidence in applying these skills to problem-solving situations.
\n<\/span>Unit of Inquiry (UOI)<\/b>
\n<\/b>We began exploring specific conflicts from students\u2019 own lives or communities. They analysed the causes and roots of these conflicts, considered the different perspectives involved, and brainstormed possible solutions that could lead to positive outcomes for everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/b>We\u2019ve got a short but exciting week ahead with students heading to camp. Students will mostly be working on completing our Personal Narratives and making connections with decimals, fractions and percentages.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re excited to share that our Grade 6 students will take part in a fun and interactive workshop on Monday, 10th November, called \u201cBrainy Bites \u2013 Healthy Eating.\u201d The session will focus on making positive food choices and understanding how what we eat can help us think, feel, and learn better.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of this event, the organisers have asked students to complete a short anonymous survey before and after the workshop. The purpose is to help them understand any changes in students\u2019 awareness or habits related to healthy living. The survey responses are completely confidential \u2014 no names or identifying details will be collected, and all data will be used only for educational and research purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participation in the survey is entirely voluntary. All Grade 6 students will join the workshop itself, but if you would prefer that your child does not complete the anonymous survey, please let us know by Sunday, 9th November.<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019re looking forward to a great learning experience for our students \u2014 it should be an engaging and thought-provoking session!<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, we have our very exciting beach camp overnight trip taking place this week. We will be leaving school at 8.30am on Wednesday 12th, so please ensure that your child is not late on this day.<\/span><\/p>\n
