Dear Primary Families,<\/span><\/p>\n

This week has been a wonderful reminder of how learning in the PYP takes many forms and provides students with opportunities to apply a wide range of skills. Across the Primary section, our learners continue to show curiosity, creativity, and confidence as they inquire, collaborate, and take action.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grade 6 \u2013 Model United Nations Day<\/b>
\n<\/b>On Tuesday, our Grade 6 students took part in their Model United Nations Day \u2014 a highlight of the week and a fantastic example of authentic learning in action. Acting as delegates from different countries, they debated global issues such as freedom of movement, education, the prevention of war and conflict, crime, and national debt. Throughout the day, students presented motions, negotiated respectfully, and drew on a range of skills \u2014 communication, critical thinking, research, and self-management among them. It was inspiring to see the depth of their thinking and the maturity with which they engaged in complex, real-world topics. A huge credit goes to the Grade 6 team, Mr. Matthew, and Ms. Zahra for facilitating this rich and memorable learning experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grade 5 \u2013 Design Challenge<\/b>
\n<\/b>In Grade 5, students began tuning in to their new Unit of Inquiry with an engaging design challenge: <\/span>How could they drop a ball and ensure it didn\u2019t touch the ground for at least five seconds?<\/span><\/i> Working in small groups, they experimented with ideas, tested prototypes, and refined their designs \u2014 all while demonstrating collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving. Activities like this remind us that inquiry often starts with curiosity and play, sparking deeper thinking as students make connections and explore possibilities. I\u2019m excited to see how this unit develops in the coming weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Learning looks different at different times \u2014 but whether through structured debate, hands-on experimentation, or everyday classroom inquiry, our students are building skills and attitudes that will serve them well beyond school.<\/span><\/p>\n

Parent Coffee Morning & Seesaw Workshop<\/b>
\n<\/b>Next Tuesday, 14 October, we\u2019d love for you to join us for a <\/span>hands-on Seesaw workshop<\/span><\/i> as part of our Parent Coffee Morning. Come and see how the Primary team is working with your child to use Seesaw as a way to share learning, communicate, and celebrate their progress. You\u2019ll also gain tips on how Seesaw can help spark meaningful conversations at home about learning, and explore key features that make it easier to stay connected with what\u2019s happening in the classroom.<\/span>
