Dear Parents,<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a short but impactful week in Grade 6, with students engaging in meaningful learning across Literacy, Maths, and UOI.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/b>We\u2019ve begun exploring ideas for personal narratives. To build inspiration, students read several examples and identified key features such as strong emotions, engaging hooks, and detailed descriptions. They then created a timeline of powerful, emotion-filled moments from their own lives to spark ideas for their writing.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/b>As we near the end of our Numbers unit, students investigated why decimals are useful and how they connect to real-life contexts. To put this into practice, Grade 6 hosted a \u201cJumping Olympics,\u201d where students measured and recorded their own jump distances. They then compared and analysed the data to determine the farthest jump and calculate the differences between results. Some photos from this exciting event are below.<\/span><\/p>\n

This week we launched our second line of inquiry: <\/span>the impact of migration on individuals, communities, and societies<\/span><\/i>. Students were assigned to imaginary nations with their own rules and regulations, then reflected on which nation they would choose to migrate to and why. This activity sparked thoughtful discussion and set the stage for deeper exploration into the complexities of migration.<\/span><\/p>\n
