A simple way to practice is by asking one <strong data-start=\"366\" data-end=\"392\">\u201cQuestion of the Day.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"396\" data-end=\"418\"><strong data-start=\"399\" data-end=\"416\">How to do it:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"419\" data-end=\"628\">\n<li data-start=\"419\" data-end=\"482\">\n<p data-start=\"421\" data-end=\"482\">Ask your child one open-ended question each day in English.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"483\" data-end=\"557\">\n<p data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"557\">Encourage your child to answer in a full sentence (not just one word).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"558\" data-end=\"628\">\n<p data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"628\">You can also answer the question yourself to model good sentences.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"630\" data-end=\"660\"><strong data-start=\"632\" data-end=\"658\">Examples of Questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"661\" data-end=\"832\">\n<li data-start=\"661\" data-end=\"721\">\n<p data-start=\"663\" data-end=\"721\">\u201cWhat was the best thing that happened at school today?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"722\" data-end=\"787\">\n<p data-start=\"724\" data-end=\"787\">\u201cIf you could be any animal, which one would you be and why?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"832\">\n<p data-start=\"790\" data-end=\"832\">\u201cWhat do you like to do on the weekend?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"834\" data-end=\"1039\"><strong data-start=\"837\" data-end=\"852\">Family Tip:<\/strong> Make this part of your daily routine. For example, at dinner time or before bed. Over time, your child will learn to express more ideas in English and feel more confident in speaking. Even if you use your <strong data-start=\"1085\" data-end=\"1104\">native language<\/strong>, this still helps your child! Asking questions and answering in full sentences builds important skills like organizing ideas, making complete sentences, and thinking carefully.
