The discovery of DNA\u2019s structure in 1953 was a monumental breakthrough in science, serving as the blueprint for all living organisms and paving the way for advancements in medicine and genetics. Recently, our Grade 11 students engaged in a hands-on initiative to model DNA, collaborating in small groups to construct their own models using colorful materials. This activity reinforced their understanding of DNA’s components\u2014such as the phosphate backbone, sugar molecules, and nitrogenous bases\u2014while highlighting the iconic base pairing of adenine with thymine and cytosine with guanine. The students shared ideas, resolved challenges, and celebrated creativity, fostering a sense of community and teamwork. As they grasp the fundamentals of DNA, they are also equipped with knowledge that could contribute to future breakthroughs in healthcare. This remarkable journey of discovery not only deepened their understanding of the building blocks of life but also inspired them to innovate in the field of science.<\/p>\n
