WIDA is an important assessment that helps us understand how well students are developing their <strong data-start=\"354\" data-end=\"381\">English language skills<\/strong> in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"431\" data-end=\"464\">\u2705 <strong data-start=\"433\" data-end=\"462\">Why WIDA testing matters:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"465\" data-end=\"703\">\n<li data-start=\"465\" data-end=\"518\">\n<p data-start=\"467\" data-end=\"518\">It shows us each child\u2019s <strong data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"515\">progress in English<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"519\" data-end=\"611\">\n<p data-start=\"521\" data-end=\"611\">It helps teachers provide the right level of <strong data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"591\">support and challenge<\/strong> in the classroom.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"612\" data-end=\"703\">\n<p data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"703\">It gives students a chance to <strong data-start=\"644\" data-end=\"669\">show what they can do<\/strong> in different areas of language.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"705\" data-end=\"939\">\ud83d\udcda <strong data-start=\"708\" data-end=\"736\">Who takes the WIDA test?<\/strong><br data-start=\"736\" data-end=\"739\" \/>At our school, WIDA testing is done<strong data-start=\"775\" data-end=\"819\"> from Grade 2 to Grade 6\u00a0<\/strong>(Primary). This ensures we have the clearest picture of how students are developing their English during these important years.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1201\">\ud83d\udca1 <strong data-start=\"979\" data-end=\"1001\">Important to know:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1001\" data-end=\"1004\" \/>The WIDA test <strong data-start=\"1018\" data-end=\"1068\">does not affect student grades or report cards<\/strong>.
