Alongside getting to know each other, we\u2019ve laid some strong foundations for our learning journey ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We started the year with a short icebreaker activity where students linked everyday situations to mathematical ideas. This opened up some thoughtful discussions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">From there, we began our learning with <\/span><b>exponents<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and used them in <\/span><b>problem-solving activities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2728 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Spotlight:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> A few students showed great persistence in tackling tricky exponent problems independently before asking for help.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ud83d\udd0e <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Looking ahead:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> We\u2019ll dive into <\/span><b>negative and fractional exponents<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> next week.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Parents and Students, It has been a wonderful start to the school year, and I am delighted to share what we\u2019ve been learning in Mathematics across the 9th grade..
