Alongside getting to know each other, we\u2019ve laid some strong foundations for our learning journey ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We began with a fun icebreaker where students worked in pairs to find common interests \u2013 lots of laughter and teamwork! We then agreed on our essential agreements for learning Maths this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students joined Google Classroom and DeltaMath, after which we jumped into our Maths journey. This week\u2019s focus was on converting <\/span><b>decimals to fractions to percentages and back again<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Students discussed these concepts and were encouraged to solve practice problems and ask questions whenever needed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2728 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Spotlight:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Some students impressed us with clear explanations of how they converted decimals to percentages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ud83d\udd0e <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Looking ahead:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Next week, we\u2019ll extend this learning into <\/span><b>real-world applications of percentages<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Parents and Students, It has been a wonderful start to the school year, and I am delighted to share what we\u2019ve been learning in Mathematics across the 8th grade.
