Happy Thursday Robloxs parents\/guardians,<\/h4>\n

I am excited to introduce myself as your child\u2019s new Grade 2 teacher. My name is Ms. Cami, and this week has been a very special one for me, not only because it\u2019s the beginning of a new school year for our Roblox class, but also because it\u2019s my very first time teaching in the Middle East.<\/h4>\n

I was born in Mauritius and have spent the last few years teaching in Cameroon and parts of Europe. Teaching has taken me on a wonderful journey across different cultures and classrooms, and each step has taught me that children\u2019s curiosity, joy, and kindness are the same everywhere. I feel very lucky to now be a part of this vibrant school community in Oman.<\/h4>\n

Our first week together has been all about settling in, getting to know each other, and creating a positive and caring classroom environment. The students have been busy making essential agreements, diving a little into our first Unit of Inquiry (Who We Are), and taking part in team-building activities that helped us build friendships and learn how to work together. We also kicked off some of our routines in reading, writing, and maths.<\/h4>\n

You can expect to see weekly updates here on Broadcaster to share what we\u2019ve been doing in class, along with photos of our learning journey. Please know that I celebrate your child\u2019s successes, big and small, and I\u2019ll be in touch directly if there\u2019s ever anything important to share.<\/h4>\n

Who We Are<\/strong> will be the first Transdisciplinary Theme the students will investigate. I have attached the UOI Flyer<\/a>, and I encourage you to take some time to look at it. This unit\u2019s presentation will be a Shoebox Autobiography, where each child will use a shoebox to share about their family, hobbies, traditions, and the things that make them unique. We will be \u201cwalking in their lives\u201d as they introduce themselves in this creative way. I will share the directions on SeeSaw. Please ensure that your child brings a box or shoebox to school next week so we can begin this exciting project together.<\/h4>\n

Home Learning<\/strong>: Reading Journals will be given to each student on Sunday. Please send them back completed each Thursday.<\/h4>\n

Communication<\/strong>: Please message me through SeeSaw Messages. This is the quickest form of communication, and I will always do my best to respond promptly.<\/h4>\n
