As educators, we’re fortunate to (mostly) avoid the animals—though we do enjoy our ABIS goats and chickens—but we have the daily privilege of working with children. And with children, as we all know, come many delightful surprises—especially when staging assemblies and concerts.

Today’s Grade 3–6 Summer Concert, like the KG1–G2 Concert a few weeks ago, provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to be risk-takers and to perform in front of a large audience. Over the past few weeks, they’ve practiced diligently—despite the end-of-year fatigue and the lure of the summer holidays—and it showed.

A big congratulations to Mr. Mino for his hard work in preparing the students. It was heartening to see the variety of performances on display, and even more so to know that students had the agency to decide how much they wanted to participate. Some chose to sing, dance, or speak on stage, while others preferred to support from the chorus—each choice valid and valuable.

These concerts are rich with learning and “teachable moments.” As a primary team, we will reflect on the highlights and also consider ways to continue refining these experiences. As our school grows, so does our commitment to ensuring that every student has a chance to shine—while also recognising that some may need a little more time before stepping into the spotlight.

As parents, your support is invaluable. Whether your child took centre stage or chose a quieter role, every contribution is worthy of celebration. Success looks different for each learner, and we’re proud of all our students for their efforts and participation.

A quick reminder: next week is the final week of school, and the last day for students is Wednesday, with dismissal at 1:00 p.m.

Wishing you a restful and joyful weekend.

Warm regards,

Matthew
Primary Team Lead

Reminders

Sunday, 15th – 18th June: Spirit Week (see HR teacher messages for further details for each day)

Wednesday, 18th June: 1:00 pm finish for students.
