Congratulations to all of our students for their hard work, dedication, and for being risk-takers in putting on a fabulous Summer Music Concert today! It was an engaging and enjoyable celebration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><b>Upcoming Dates:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sunday June 15th &#8211; Wednesday June 18th: Spirit Week (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1hoHWwv8H-YIMtzU-JMPhyJ5dI-TT_-V1\/view?usp=drive_link\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Link<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tuesday June 17th &#8211; Great Grade 5 Party Day! Please bring\/wear a <\/span><b>swimsuit and towel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> as we will be starting our day in the pool! Please also bring some <\/span><b>blankies &amp; pillows<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for the Grade 5 Movie Theatre! <\/span><b>Lunch will be provided<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at the Pizza Party.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wednesday 18th June: Final day of school for students finish at 1:00PM &#8211; End of Year Reports to parents<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During this week, students spent a lot of time rehearsing for the Summer Music Concert, which took up a majority of our time during the 3 days. Students did spend some time wrapping up their project-based learning journals for our unit of inquiry. Students finished researching how two different foods were made, and took one of those foods to think about how ethical the process is. To demonstrate their learning and understanding, students created a poster to encourage ethical food choices. Students played a few Blookets that challenged them to use different knowledge from the year such as understanding nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives, as well as our multiplication facts. We also had time together to enjoy playing some Kahoots! that students created about our year together. On Tuesday, we will have a Grade 5 Party, which will include going to the pool, watching a movie, having a lovely lunch together and ending our day in the sports hall.
