As a final activity (and as a way for the students to apply and show their new learning) the students have been analysing a section of a Rube Goldberg machine and adding their own commentary to the video to show:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the difference between potential and kinetic energy<\/li>\n<li>how energy can be transformed into different forms<\/li>\n<li>the law of conservation of energy<\/li>\n<li>dissipation of energy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The students then self-assessed using the 4 point rubric below and reflected on the process. The students then reflected on their efforts and published piece of writing by using this 3 point rubric (below). This allows the student to see areas of strength, as well as areas for future development.
