Dear Parents,<\/span><\/p>\n

This week, Grade 1 has been busy learning all about measuring!<\/span>
\n<\/span>We explored non-standard units \u2014 measuring with things like our own hands and blocks. The students had so much fun using their hands to measure different objects around the classroom!<\/span><\/p>\n

First, they made an estimate: for example, “How many hands long do you think the TV is?”<\/span>
\n<\/span>After making their guesses, they measured the real length and wrote it down. They checked whose estimate was the closest and even recorded their results using tally marks!<\/span>
\n<\/span>It was a great way to see how measuring can be both fun and useful. Next week, we will continue measuring using other non-standard units.<\/span><\/p>\n
