Dear Secondary Families<\/p>\n

This week, we were proud to host our Grade 10 IB MYP Personal Project Exhibition<\/strong>, a highlight of the academic year and a true celebration of student voice, choice, and initiative.<\/p>\n

The Personal Project is the culminating experience of the Middle Years Programme, allowing students to explore an area of personal interest, set meaningful goals, and develop a product or outcome that reflects their learning journey. It challenges students to apply the skills they\u2019ve developed throughout the MYP\u2014critical thinking, research, time management, and reflection\u2014while deepening their understanding of themselves and the world around them.<\/p>\n

It was wonderful to see so many parents, students, and staff engaging with the projects, asking thoughtful questions, and celebrating the individuality and creativity of our learners. The exhibition not only marked a major academic milestone but also reflected the IB\u2019s mission to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who are motivated to make a difference. Each display was a testament to the passion, curiosity, and hard work our students invested over the past months.<\/p>\n

A heartfelt thank you to the Grade 10 students for their dedication, and to our Personal Project Coordinator and teaching team for their invaluable support throughout the process. We are incredibly proud of our students and look forward to seeing how they carry these skills and passions into the next stage of their learning journey.<\/p>\n

Learning Beyond the Classroom: Grade 9 & 10 Trip to Nizwa and Muscat<\/strong><\/p>\n

Next week, we\u2019ll be waving off our Grade 9 and 10 students as they set off on an exciting four-day adventure to Nizwa and Muscat<\/strong>\u2014a trip designed to extend learning beyond the classroom and deepen their understanding of Oman\u2019s rich culture and natural beauty.<\/p>\n

This experience offers far more than just a change of scenery. Through visits to historic forts, museums, and traditional souqs<\/strong>, students will have the opportunity to engage meaningfully with Omani heritage and history, making valuable connections with their classroom learning. They\u2019ll also take part in adventurous activities such as kayaking<\/strong>, encouraging teamwork, resilience, and personal growth in a unique outdoor setting.<\/p>\n

At ABIS, we believe that outdoor and experiential learning<\/strong> plays a vital role in developing well-rounded, globally aware students. These experiences foster independence, social skills, and curiosity\u2014qualities that are central to the IB learner profile and essential for success in life beyond school. This trip forms part of our Oman Week activities that had to be postponed for Grade 9 & 10.<\/p>\n
