As the beautiful and reflective month of Ramadan<\/strong> unfolds, our Performing Arts lessons have taken an exciting turn towards the world of Drama and Theatre!<\/strong> This month, our young performers have been diving into storytelling, acting, and theatrical techniques, using creativity and imagination to bring their ideas to life on stage.<\/p>\n

KG1 \u2013 Grade 2: Expressing Through Drama Games \ud83c\udfad\ud83c\udfa8<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Our youngest learners in KG1, KG2, Grade 1, and Grade 2<\/strong> explored Drama Games<\/strong>, using their voices, movements, and emotions to express themselves.<\/p>\n

\u2728 What did they learn?<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • \ud83c\udfa8 Exploring Emotions Through Colours<\/strong> \u2013 How does red<\/strong> feel? What does blue<\/strong> sound like? Students connected feelings with colors, enhancing their expressive skills.<\/li>\n
  • \ud83c\udfad Expression & Voice Projection<\/strong> \u2013 They experimented with facial expressions, body language, and using their voice confidently<\/strong> to act out different scenarios.<\/li>\n
  • \ud83c\udfac Storytelling Through Drama Games<\/strong> \u2013 The little ones had a fantastic time creating their own short stories<\/strong>, acting out everyday experiences, and bringing their imaginations to life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Watching them play, explore, and laugh through drama was a joy to see!<\/strong> Their creativity was limitless<\/strong> as they transformed into different characters, animals, and even objects, showing great confidence and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n

    Grades 3 \u2013 6: Stepping into the World of Theatre \ud83c\udfad\u2728<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    The older students in Grades 3 to 6<\/strong> took a deeper dive into the art of theatre.<\/strong> They discovered the magic behind the stage<\/strong> and how different elements come together to create a powerful performance.<\/p>\n

    \ud83c\udf9f\ufe0f Key Highlights from Their Learning:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • \ud83c\udfad Theatre Conventions<\/strong> \u2013 What makes a great performance? Students explored different types of theatre<\/strong>, learning about protagonists, antagonists, and the structure of a play<\/strong> (beginning, conflict, climax, and resolution).<\/li>\n
    • \ud83c\udfac Stage Directions & Blocking<\/strong> \u2013 Understanding the different areas of the stage and how actors move with purpose to tell a story visually.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • \ud83c\udfa8 Costumes, Lighting & Staging<\/strong> \u2013 How does lighting change the mood<\/strong>? What do costumes tell us about a character<\/strong>? Students analyzed how these elements bring a performance to life.<\/li>\n
    • \ud83c\udfad Directing & Acting<\/strong> \u2013 Some students took on the role of directors<\/strong>, while others played different characters, experimenting with dialogue, movement, and emotions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
