They have spent the past two weeks delving into the structure of chromosomes, the stages of the cell cycle, and how uncontrolled cell division can lead to cancer. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This important groundwork helped set the stage for next week&#8217;s hands-on lab where students will extract DNA from strawberries. Getting to see DNA samples would help them appreciate this unit more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It&#8217;s rewarding to see students starting to think like scientists &#8211; asking questions and making more connections between new ideas and what they already know.
