The students went from brainstorming ideas, describing the events of their story to starting to organize their writing and then adding an introduction.<\/p>\n<p>This week, I introduced readers theatre to the class. It&#8217;s\u00a0<b>a way to involve students in\u00a0<span role=\"tooltip\"><span class=\"c5aZPb\" role=\"button\" data-enable-toggle-animation=\"true\" data-extra-container-classes=\"ZLo7Eb\" data-hover-hide-delay=\"1000\" data-hover-open-delay=\"500\" data-send-open-event=\"true\" data-theme=\"0\" data-width=\"250\" data-ved=\"2ahUKEwil372jme6FAxX9RKQEHdAQA9oQmpgGegQIGhAD\"><span class=\"JPfdse\" data-bubble-link=\"\" data-segment-text=\"reading aloud\">reading aloud<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>. In reader&#8217;s theater, students \u201cperform\u201d by reading scripts created from grade-level books or stories. Usually they do so without costumes or props. Reader&#8217;s theater is a strategy that combines reading practice and performing. The class formed groups and each group received a script.
