Dear KG1 Families,<\/p>\n

This week, children were invited to mix natural treasures like flowers and herbs. Our incitation turned into a meaningful provocation that sparked imagination and wonder. Children enjoyed playing with things from nature like tea leaves, coffee, leaves, flowers, cinnamon sticks parsley, and mint. They mixed these items together to create pretend soups, teas, and coffees. Following the children’s interests, we explored where these things came from. Interestingly, it turns out that tea and henna, for example, also come from nature! This hands-on approach allowed the children to see the connection between what they played with and the natural world around them.<\/p>\n

Children went on a listening walk with Ms Cora and Ms Buthania.<\/p><\/div>\n

To inquire about tea leaves and tea bags, we cut open six tea bags to examine their contents and determine if they were the same or different.<\/p><\/div>\n

After our exploration, we watched a video clip to learn how tea leaves transform into loose tea.<\/p><\/div>\n

Some children made pretend henna using coffee grounds and tested their final product on Ms. Nicholson’s hand to see if it would work.<\/p><\/div>\n

Making our own henna and learning about where henna comes from.<\/p><\/div>\n
