We went deep (literally and figuratively)! As part of our direct instruction, teachers guided students to develop self-management skills by creating or adapting a calendar: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1NofJnTmXD1TEygAQim-K71iIzK1rmNzYickILDgdwtc\/edit\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">PYPX Calendar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Students reflected on each other&#8217;s progress through a thinking protocol: Step Inside. Students also self-assessed their progress according to Trevor<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.trevormackenzie.com\/posts\/2018\/1\/16\/what-youll-discover-when-you-read-dive-into-inquiry\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Mackenzie\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Types of Student Inquiry<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Numeracy Summary<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week, students continued to work on developing their understanding of the relationship between decimals and fractions working to convert decimals into fractions to calculate quotients. Today, students began to explore number theory by defining\u2013with examples\u2013even and odd numbers and how they relate to addition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Anything Else<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week, students (and their parents) could access <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1euDKC-hfGejzHGsXs7PrcY9Aiqysw0AnQF_NracjdGk\/edit\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agency Centers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in order to provide a chance for students to exercise their agency and to ensure that all students would not miss out on any learning due to a meeting with a mentor or anything else. As one important way to better connect school with home, please talk with your child(ren) about their project, their meeting with a mentor, the inquiry process and so on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Last (but not least), students participated in an excursion outside school and classroom walls at Sohar Aluminium.
