Sunday 11 February<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Potential G6 Overnight camp in Mussanah as part of Oman week Wednesday 14 February\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">PYP Exhibition February 20\/ 21<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">End of Term Break February 25 &#8211; 29<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Student Led Conferences March 12\/ 13<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Home Learning &#8211; aka Homework<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week, students (and their parents) could access <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1euDKC-hfGejzHGsXs7PrcY9Aiqysw0AnQF_NracjdGk\/edit\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\">Agency Centers<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in order to provide a chance for students to exercise their agency and to ensure that all students would not miss out on any learning due to a meeting with a mentor. As one important way to better connect school with home, please talk with your child(ren) about their project, their meeting with a mentor, the inquiry process and so on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Transdisciplinary Learning<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Language\/ Reading\/ Writing\/ UOI &#8211;\u00a0 Exhibition Summary<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week, students continued to work on their exhibition projects using all of their ATL. As part of this we worked on developing the skill of self management through a guided exercise in developing our own timetable and project management schedule for the remaining time that we have before our Exhibition on the 20th and 21st of February.\u00a0 Please see a copy of our schedule <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1NofJnTmXD1TEygAQim-K71iIzK1rmNzYickILDgdwtc\/edit\"><b>here<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for your information. Students also completed a self assessment according to where they think they are on a continuum of different models of inquiry called the \u2018Swimming pool\u2019 model which will allow them to plan forward and think about what they need to do to move forward over the next few weeks. This model is the feature image for this week&#8217;s broadcaster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As part of our Exhibition unit, students also participated in an educational experience outside the classroom this week in that they went on a field trip to the Sohar Aluminium plant. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This was a wonderful rich learning experience enjoyed by all.\u00a0 Many thanks to the team at Sohar Aluminium for being such gracious hosts. Our students were very impressed and learned a lot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Numeracy Summary<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week, students continued to work on developing their understanding of the relationship between decimals and fractions working to convert decimals into fractions to calculate differences. Please ask them about this because talking about their learning with you will help them to consolidate their understandings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Notices:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Semester reports will be made available electronically on the 1st of February with a message from our student management system (Managebac) letting you know how to access these.
