Even with further dreams of winter slumber, here\u2019s proof positive in all of the pictures that this week was very productive: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1abop8IJoMrbpCtPPdXgfUsjgr2gVM8RV?usp=drive_link\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">G6 W17 in Pictures<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>School Events &#8211; Important Dates<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Sultan\u2019s Accession<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> = <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thursday, January 11, 2024 [publicly observed for His <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Majesty Sultan Haitham]<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Swimming (PE)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> = Sundays for girls and Wednesdays for boys<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>G3-G6 Assembly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> = Thursday, January 25, 2024 (Please note students will announce their Exhibition projects to the school community.)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Home Learning &#8211; aka Homework<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week, students (and their parents) could access <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1HiHk5ynyvc2saRGpr9WeZt804N47fqub8kNv9nAq_Wc\/edit?usp=drive_link\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agency Centers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in order to provide a chance for students to exercise their agency and to ensure that all students would not miss out on any learning due to a meeting with a mentor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Exhibition (or Literacy + UoI) Summary<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week, students decided on the language for their central idea, lines of inquiry, a connection to a UNSDG, and a problem or case study for their Exhibition projects. In order to start researching, students were challenged with an exit ticket to generate three questions related to each line of inquiry. Additionally, all groups reached out to their mentor teacher and all but one group met with them too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Numeracy Summary<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week, students worked with the \u2018flip-it\u2019 method or the \u2018invert-and-multiply\u2019 method to calculate division with fractions. Students also reviewed how to transform fractions into decimals in order to begin exploring how mixed numbers can be transformed into decimal numbers and, then, added or subtracted. Please note that we are planning to have a mid-module assessment before the end of next week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Anything Else<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Of course, there are daily suggestions for home learning in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1HiHk5ynyvc2saRGpr9WeZt804N47fqub8kNv9nAq_Wc\/edit?usp=drive_link\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agency Centers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
