Dear Parents and Students,<\/span><\/p>\n

Another busy, productive week \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n

For those of you that were able to make it, thank you, it was great to see you at our assembly where students took a leadership role and enjoyed sharing their learning. Really well done to our MC\u2019s Feline and Alice as well as those students presenting their honeycomb pictures and writing about cultural insights.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reading and writing<\/b><\/p>\n

This week students have done some great work in developing their literary essays around their book clubs and have used the hamburger model to frame their writing. A copy of the hamburger model is in our feature image for this week for your reference. Please talk with your child about this and check out their awesome work on Seesaw.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mathematics<\/b><\/p>\n

This week students have continued to develop their mathematical understandings and have been working with problems involving moving from fractions to decimals and then into percentages. Again, please talk with your child about this and see your child’s work samples as evidence of this great work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Integrated UOI<\/b><\/p>\n

This week we have continued to work on developing our understanding of what it means to be a digital citizen as well as the rights and responsibilities one has as part of being a digital citizen. Students have also completed a protocol to arrange groupings for their next mini project which is a timeline of the 20 Century in relation to the\u00a0 development of collaborative technologies and the impact of this.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Homework<\/b><\/p>\n

Thank you for supporting students in their routine of completing homework every night and for signing off at the end of the week.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Notice<\/b><\/p>\n

Please note that next Wednesday and Thursday, Oman’s National Day will be observed. This meaning that next week will be a short week with a long weekend attached in recognition of the 53rd birthday of Oman.\u00a0 For National Day, on Sunday 19 at 8.00 am in the Mazoon we will have the flag raising and anthem in the Mazoon with the whole school. Please ensure students go directly to the Mazoon for an 8.05 start. Students may wear Omani attire\/colours\/school uniform only. <\/span><\/p>\n
