Grade 8 science\u00a0 is on course for the term 2 science unit on how scientists conduct experiments in the laboratory with a focus on the scientific method. <\/span>They have already learnt about the safety rules they need to follow whenever they are in the laboratory. They have also been introduced to most of the laboratory apparatus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bunsen burners and even the portable burners present special hazards so there are some extra rules for working with them. Grade 8\u2019s have learned to take responsibility to make sure that they stay safe while working with this apparatus.<\/span><\/p>\n

To get their bunsen burner license, they had to identify the parts of a bunsen burner and their functions, identify the correct order of steps to set up and light a bunsen burner and also describe and explain the safety rules for using a bunsen burner.<\/span><\/p>\n
