{"id":288199,"date":"2023-05-03T13:38:10","date_gmt":"2023-05-03T09:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abisoman.com\/broadcaster\/?p=288199"},"modified":"2023-05-03T13:38:10","modified_gmt":"2023-05-03T09:38:10","slug":"welcome-back-to-a-busy-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abisoman.com\/broadcaster\/2023\/05\/03\/welcome-back-to-a-busy-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome Back to a Busy Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Families,<\/p>\n<p>We are on the home stretch of this academic year.\u00a0 It seems hard to believe that there are only 7 instructional weeks left until summer break.\u00a0 Learning will continue across all subjects until the final days, and this is an important time of year for students to challenge themselves, to apply their cumulative knowledge and demonstrate their achievement and growth.\u00a0 We want to push students who are still working below grade level to make as much progress as possible during this final term.\u00a0 If you have any questions at all about your child&#8217;s learning, or would like some ideas about how to support growth at home, please speak with your child&#8217;s teachers or me.\u00a0 As always, remember that students should read at home every single day.\u00a0 Research shows that daily reading is a significant factor in academic achievement.<\/p>\n<p>This week was full of great happenings.\u00a0 Thank you to all parents who attended our Primary Parent Coffee Morning yesterday.\u00a0 Our Primary counselor Ms. Maitha, supported by Ms. Magz, presented information about health and well being, and some great conversations ensued.\u00a0 We plan to continue these types of parent information workshops and they will be regularly scheduled in the coming academic year.\u00a0 In the meantime, we maintain an open door policy and welcome feedback or suggestions for future parent workshop topics.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Grades 5 &amp; 6 presented a Primary Assembly.\u00a0 Thank you to all who were able to attend.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sure you enjoyed the Star Wars theme: &#8220;May the 4th Be With You&#8221; and hopefully the Grade 6 students have piqued your interest in the upcoming Exhibition, being held next week.\u00a0 All ABIS community members are encouraged to drop in and engage with the students about their Exhibition projects.\u00a0 Students are both nervous and excited about sharing their passions and efforts with different audiences.\u00a0 You have received an email outlining the schedule and time slots for Community drop ins.
