Thank you for attending our student-led conferences. It was such a pleasure to see you all and discuss your children\u2019s progress in class. Students had the opportunity to explain what they have been learning and show off their \u201cDesign Your Own Country\u201d projects.<\/p>\n
One of our main goals is to increase our students\u2019 reading comprehension and fluency. I am sending home weekly homework on Sundays and asking students to use the Raz-Kids and Nessy applications daily on their iPads at home to supplement what we are doing class. Please make sure your child is being consistent in turning in their homework and working on Raz-Kids and Nessy. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n
Also, please have a conversation with your child about our Unit of Inquiry\u2019s central idea: Exploration leads to discoveries, opportunities, and the new understandings. Ask them what are the reasons for exploration? What are the consequences of exploration? What are the attributes of explorers? We had this discussion in class, but I would like you continue at home. Feel free to relate this to Oman culture and history.<\/p>\n
