Reading, Writing and Inquiry<\/b><\/p>\n

The students completed reflections on their field trip to Sohar Aluminium last week and on their learning for Semester 1 reports. Students\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mathematics<\/b><\/p>\n

Along with the daily math maintenance, students learnt ways to find a given fraction of a number. Students understood the elements of a line graph by inferring data based on the number of global migrants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unit of Inquiry – Migration<\/b><\/p>\n

The students unpacked the words \u2018risk\u2019, \u2018challenges\u2019 & \u2018opportunities\u2019. Students then read some personal <\/span>stories of migrants<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and analysed the risks, challenges and opportunities migrants go through. Students learnt to recognize the push and pull factors and categorised them as social\/economical\/environmental\/political factors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Trip to Nizwa (29-31 Jan – Sun – Tuesday).<\/strong> Students who are not attending the trip will need to come to school; they will work in Grade 5 classrooms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
