{"id":282253,"date":"2023-01-22T12:01:18","date_gmt":"2023-01-22T08:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abisoman.com\/broadcaster\/?p=282253"},"modified":"2023-01-25T08:40:19","modified_gmt":"2023-01-25T04:40:19","slug":"service-as-action-and-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abisoman.com\/broadcaster\/2023\/01\/22\/service-as-action-and-music\/","title":{"rendered":"Service as Action and Music"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Grade 8, the students have been learning about Jazz and Blues, two unique musical styles that maintain a strong position in the Black\/African American identity in the US.\u00a0 For the end of their unit, instead of taking a test or completing a more conventional summative, the student developed their own projects to educate others about the history of Jazz and the Blues.\u00a0 The goal was to adapt the concept of UNESCO&#8217;s International Jazz Day for the ABIS community.\u00a0 Some students have made mini lessons for their PYP classmates, and organized push-in lessons.
