O what a week! <\/p>\n
Our end of year show was last night<\/b> – and the show went on! The students amazed both Miss Camp and myself for rising to the ethos of always doing your best and understanding your responsibility to the audience. They were brilliant<\/b> – from our littlies flying kites and playing with umbrellas to our IGCSE students demonstrating a startling amount of technique – even though I teach them I was amazed<\/b> at how good they actually looked. I get so caught up in what they need to do, that I sometimes forget to see what they have actually done! And they have done brilliantly. I am extremely proud of all the students, grade four were fabulous<\/b> with their “anything you can do…”, grades five and six were wonderful<\/b> with their Wicked song and twos and threes were fantastic<\/b> with their consider yourself tune. <\/p>\n
The secondary students laughed<\/b> and joked, grumbled and complained – and then stood up and delivered magnificently<\/b> for their numbers – from Give My Regards to Broadway – taught in one lesson, to Somewhere Over the Rainbow and the Sun in the Morning. <\/p>\n
76 Trombones was a fun and active way to end the night and the children seemed to enjoy the jumping and the instrument playing and the marching. <\/p>\n
I have to give HUGE thanks to Miss Camp<\/b> who did most of the creative organising at the beginning and the stage set up and a shout to Mr Clarke<\/b>, who promoted so much art, including the projects for Dance. I enjoy collaborating with both of them and I am very pleased that Miss Camp has so much expertise in show making – it is an absolute pleasure<\/b> working with her.<\/p>\n
I include a film from the show – unfortunately it was not filmed (anyone have it filmed? I would love a full copy!) but here you can enjoy at least the IGCSE dancers. Thanks to Ms Marchmont for taking it – my students are going to analyse it in next week’s class. <\/p>\n
