Dear Parents and Students,<\/span><\/p>\n

Another productive week \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n

Reading and writing<\/b><\/p>\n

This week students have continued to work on developing their reading fluency and comprehension as well as their writing skills. Students have completed a piece of process or \u2018how to\u2019 writing and have also<\/span> learnt about the \u2018Magic E\u2019 or the \u2018Bossy E\u2019 at the end of words that make the vowel before it \u2018Say its Name\u2019 for example \u2018Spoke\u2019. Please talk to your children about this because this will help them to consolidate their understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mathematics<\/b><\/p>\n

This week students continued to work on developing their mathematical understandings and skills at working with division problems and the concept of reversibility between multiplication and division.\u00a0 Students also completed their second basic facts test for the year. Please do talk with your children about this because I am sure they would love to tell you about their results this time in comparison to the last time they completed the same assessment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Integrated UOI<\/b><\/p>\n

This week we have continued to work on designing and making flying objects as well as inquiring into the principles of flight. Students have completed their fair testing of an \u2018O\u2019 Wing Glider and will now wove on to designing and making their own PET bottle rocket with a focus challenge of making the rocket that travels the furthest distance. Exciting times \ud83d\ude42\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Homework<\/b><\/p>\n

Thank you for supporting students in their routine of completing homework every night and for signing off at the end of the week..\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Please note that next Wednesday and Thursday, Oman’s National Day will be observed. This meaning that next week will be a short week with a long weekend attached in recognition of the 52nd birthday of Oman.\u00a0 We wish you all the best for this special time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
