Dear Families,<\/p>\n

This week we were sad to say farewell to a long standing member of ABIS Primary staff.\u00a0 Ms. Celine Rowlands has gone home to the UK for health reasons.\u00a0 She is an outstanding educator, and the Kindergarten students over the past 15 years have been so lucky to experience her as their teacher and first introduction to learning.\u00a0 We wish you all the best Celine.\u00a0 You will be dearly missed.<\/p>\n

Today, we were treated to yet another wonderful assembly, hosted by Grades 4, 5, and 6 students.\u00a0 It’s wonderful to see lots of parents continue to attend our Primary assemblies and share in our celebrations of learning.\u00a0 Thank you to all of the teachers who work hard to prepare the students for these events.\u00a0 Our next assembly will be either November 23 or 24, depending on when the National Day holiday is declared. We will have a parent coffee morning later in the month.<\/p>\n

Next week is reserved for 3 Way Conferences.\u00a0 You have received the Conference Sign Up Link<\/a> via Newsflash.\u00a0 Please be sure to choose a time for these important meetings with your child(ren) and their teachers.\u00a0 These conversations are about learning so far this year: accomplishments, goals and next steps.\u00a0 They are a great way to ensure we are all working together as a team to support student learning.\u00a0 Primary Homeroom teachers will meet in homeroom classrooms, while all specialists will be set up in LC1 Atrium for your convenience. We look forward to welcoming all of you on campus next week for these important meetings.<\/p>\n

Next Friday, Nov. 18th, is Oman’s National Day.\u00a0 We will acknowledge Oman at school by asking students to wear their best Oman clothing to school, either traditional dress or national colours of red, white and green. This is always a special day for students and we are excited to celebrate again this year together.<\/p>\n

Today you received an email about the Reading in Oman House Team competition.\u00a0 Please encourage your child to participate by sending a photo of themselves reading somewhere interesting in Oman.\u00a0 This competition will run from Sunday, Nov. 13 until Wednesday, Nov. 30, with points being earned for the most number of photos contributed per House Team.<\/p>\n
