This week we focused on social responsibility. We asked each other questions like: \u201cWhat if everybody dropped their backpack in the hallway?, \u201cWhat if everybody is talking at the same time?, \u201cWhat if everybody dropped one soda can on the floor?\u201d etc. The students concluded that we all need to take responsibility for our own actions and that agreements can help us in taking those responsibilities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I read aloud the book:\u201dHow full is your bucket?\u201d We learned that everybody has an invisible bucket. When it’s empty, you feel bad. But when it is full, you feel great. Negative emotions will take a drop out of your bucket and positive emotions will put a drop in your bucket. We discovered that for every drop you helped put in someone else\u2019s bucket, you fill another drop in your own bucket. This is how the students started brainstorming about our Grade 1 bucket fillers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
