All the students have had a lovely week this week. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>The primary students<\/b> worked on their Omani dances<\/b> and started listening to the end of year show music to which they will be performing.   The Omani dances, which are performed by the students from K3 to Grade Five<\/b> are scheduled for<\/span> <\/span>May 7th<\/a><\/sup><\/b>.<\/a> <\/span>We are sharing the assembly with Mr. Mohammed\u2019s grade four children.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>We ask that all boys<\/b> wear a dishdasha<\/b> for the performance. Kumars and Musars (head wear) are optional.  For the girls<\/b>, the school has invested in Al Batinah region traditional wear <\/b>(they are expensive!). We would like families to contact either myself or Miss Khadija if they have their own<\/b> Al Batinah dress and can wear it on that day.  Then we can fit the school owned dresses to the remaining children.  Please let us know as soon as possible<\/b> so we can appropriately plan.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>We have much in our Omani host culture to celebrate<\/b> \u2013 the good health of the Sultan, the coming Ramadan and the fact that we are privileged to live in such a beautiful country and have access to the customs and culture.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>Grade six students<\/b> are working on the final parts of their Exhibition<\/b> and so they are excused from the Omani performance.  They have wonderful plans for Exhibition and I am looking forward to seeing what they do! <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>The Secondary students<\/b> have been working on some Hip hop numbers<\/b>.  They will soon commence work on their end of year dances<\/b> at which point they will be working in both dances for a while. The Hip hop numbers may appear at a primary assembly<\/b> or in front of their peers; stay tuned for further details.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>The IGCSE students<\/b> (and a couple more) are working on a few things: there is a choreography competition<\/b> at the British School of Muscat<\/b><\/span> <\/span>on June 17<\/a>th<\/a><\/sup> <\/span><\/b>to which our students have been invited to participate and they are also working on IGCSE compositions<\/b>.  Claire Willis <\/b>was filmed for her dance exam this week, which featured her own choreographed solo and then a reprise of the Cabaret dance Cell Block Tango to feature her in a group situation.  She has worked very hard on her pieces and can be pleased with her efforts.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>IGCSE<\/b> students are also working on the choreography competition and there are tentative plans in the works to have them spend a little time one weekend with BSM dance students to share ideas.  If not this semester, then in all likelihood next year.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>The grades nine and ten students<\/b> had a fun day<\/b> this week \u2013 after all their work, and with the IGCSE exams looming, it seemed appropriate to give them space to let their hair down.  We had a \u201crequests\u201d day, which not only featured dances like the Macarena, the Azonto and some Jumpsptyle, but also included a request for relaxation at the end.  <\/span><\/p>\n

June 10 – End of Year Show<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

June 17 – BSM Choreography Competition<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n
