What a last week before the holidays! In four days we managed to pack in a girls basketball game against SIS, a swim gala and a lovely G12 art exhibition. After that, everyone needs a rest.<\/p>\n
The swim gala was great fun\u00a0and gave us\u00a0the opportunity to gain more experience with\u00a0our new race technology. The races went smoothly and there were plenty of ‘nail biters’. Though it was hot, it wasn’t too humid, meaning that students were still full of energy right up to the last relay races. As always, we were proud of the way that our students competed and put so much effort into their races. Special thanks to Mr. Carberry for all his developmental work with the students. The day is a visible\u00a0display of this effort and an opportunity to see their progress.<\/p>\n
Over sixty people attended the Grade 12 Art exhibition – not a bad turn out for just four students. We received very positive feedback from attendees about the quality of work. Special thanks to Mr.\u00a0Clarke for setting up the exhibition and encouraging the students. Thank you also to our wonderful musical performers Andee & Anton and the ‘always brilliant’ Miss Camp.<\/p>\n
We were delighted that SIS (Sohar International School) came up to play our students in the girls basketball. This is a first for them and both their girls and ours really enjoyed the experience. We hope to play more games against the school, which will help all of our students develop.<\/p>\n
Finally, congratulations to Rining Clement who has been offered a place to study at McGill University in Canada, recognised globally as one of the top universities in North America. Three of our four Grade 12 students have now applied to university and all three have been offered positions in their first choice. We are delighted about this. Since all coursework has been completed in all subjects, it’s now all about doing well in the final exams\u00a0and meeting the requirements of the universities. The exams begin on May 4.<\/p>\n
