<\/a><\/p>\nThis week the students have been learning how to write persuasive essays. They have been told that dragon eggs have been found and scientists want to clone them. The students needed to think of ways dragons could be useful in our lives and then write an essay persuading people that we needed to have dragons! They came up with some interesting ideas. <\/p>\n
They have also learnt a poem and recited it to the class using expression in their voice. I thought they did a good job of this as most of them chose poems that were funny, inspiring and interesting.<\/p>\n
In Maths the students have been practicing their number skills and working on word problems using the four operations. We spent 30 minutes with grade 3 playing maths games on Wednesday. Maths games are a good way to consolidate class learning.<\/p>\n
The students completed their scripts for their puppet shows and are now busily making their puppets. I have been very impressed by their creativity and their cooperative skills. They are working in groups making use of the recycling material downstairs. <\/p>\n
Next week we have ISA testing on Monday and Tuesday. We also have assembly on Thursday. Then we have our trip to Muscat!<\/p>\n
