They are busy notating (writing down what they hear) and dictating (making up a pattern and speaking it to the rest of the class) 4 beat rhythm patterns using art sticks! <\/p>\n<p>Blue Jello is a system developed by a Suzuki piano teacher, Michiko Yurko, to help her students quickly identify and decode rhythmic patterns.  Blue is a quarter note (or crotchet), Jello is for two eighth notes (or quavers).
