Grade 7 English and History are currently teaming up. Grade 7 are completing a unit called ‘Writer’s Workshop’ in English and have been focusing on making their writing more controlled and sophisticated.<\/p>\n

To consolidate their learning, and put their new skills into practice, students have written a historical essay on the Silk Road. Of course, the main focus of the essays is to assess their historical knowledge and understanding, however, it is also an opportunity reinforce the learning that they have been doing in English. The work has been marked and returned to the students, who will now complete their essay and submit it to Mr Kearney next week.<\/p>\n

The general idea behind this initiative is that both English and History involve a lot of essay writing and that it makes sense to work together on this critical skill.<\/p>\n
