What a great week we have had with the grade 7 students. Our focus for the week was Sinbad the sailor, who reportedly originated from this part of the world. Let me break the week down in pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research and presentation of Sinbad, life during those times and how to navigate<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Students learnt how to use a compass and completed a teacher guided treasure hunt. In teams they needed to use a compass, a measuring wheel and treasure map…..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next students created a treasure map and then teams completed each other\u2019s maps…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Students learnt the art of weaving…..<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Each student created a flag<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Designed and created a lollipop stick paddle boat<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Lollipop paddle boat creation<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Racing the paddle boats<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Tea candle powers the aluminum boiler <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Students tried out their steam powered dhows<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Certificates handed out at the end of the week<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Students completed 459 laps during the walkathon that\u2019s 183.6 kms. Well done to the students.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
