Perhaps not! Grade 10 are currently studying the art of special effects in the movies, from the very infancy of film to the present day. This week, among other things, we watched Georges M\u00e9li\u00e8s&#8217; 1902 film, &#8216; A Trip to the Moon&#8217; (a rough translation, Ms Lougher!). The class identified a number of early special effect techniques, explaining how they thought they were achieved and analyzing their effectiveness given the time frame.
