We are required to share with you the following information before the ISA assessments on Tuesday<\/strong> and Wednesday this week.<\/h5>\n

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS\u2019 ASSESSMENT (ISA)<\/h5>\n
PRIVACY STATEMENT<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
Dear Parent,<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
Your child\u2019s school has chosen to administer the International Schools\u2019 Assessment (\u201cISA\u201d) to its students.<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
The ISA:<\/h5>\n
* is an assessment program designed by The Australian Council for Educational Research Ltd (ABN 19 004 398 145) (\u201cACER\u201d) for students in grades 3 to 10; and<\/h5>\n
* seeks to measure students\u2019 levels of proficiency in mathematical literacy, reading, writing and\/or scientific literacy performance in relation to other international school students at the same grade level. De-identified data from the ISA may be used for the purpose of research by ACER.<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
The above sets out the purpose (\u201cthe Purpose\u201d) for which your child\u2019s personal information may be collected and processed by ACER. Personal information is defined as any information that could lead directly or indirectly to the identification of a specific individual such as name and date of birth.<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
Should ACER not so collect your child\u2019s personal information there is no consequence for your child other than not being able to assist in achieving the Purpose by not being able to participate in the ISA.<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
Privacy is very important and ACER takes great care to ensure your child\u2019s personal information is protected.<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
ACER is an Australian based company, and will collect and handle your child\u2019s personal information in accordance with applicable privacy and data law including:<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
a) Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act); and<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
b) the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016\/679 (GDPR).<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
Under applicable privacy law you and your child have various rights including to:<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
1. inspect his or her personal information;<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
2. request amendment of personal information where it is believed to be incorrect; and<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
3. make a complaint in respect of a possible breach of your child\u2019s privacy.<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
