This is a pivotal subject for them as they begin transitioning into grade 9 and covering IGCSE History material. So far we have looked at the major players in the revolution as well as the guiding ideology of communism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Grade 11, students continue to look at Fidel Castro and his domestic policies for Cuba from 1959-2008. Major events including the Bay of Pigs Invasion, Cuban Missile Crisis, and Special Period (1990s) are being studied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grade 9 students are nearing then end of their look at containment as a US policy during the Cold War. The cases studies considered were the Korean War, Cuba, and the Vietnam War.
