The groups met beforehand to plan their menu; this is challenging as they need to prepare, cook and cleanup in 40 minutes. Through this process they learned important skills such as working as a group in a real life situation, and finding solutions to unexpected issues such as the cake mix flying all over when blending and the challenge of filling the egg-half with a spoon. In both cases, students showed ingenuity in their solutions. The first group pierced their mixer blades through a paper plate to keep the mix from flying all over and the second group found a clean ziplock bag to make a piping cone.
