Rather than contend with complex language, the simplistic translation allowed us to dig deeper into the big ideas, which worked really well with our final activity: a Socratic Seminar! The students did an amazing job of discussing the &#8220;big picture&#8221; ideas and really arguing their perspectives as they presented their thoughts based on the texts.
